1: How do I know if I am eligible for TWU Pledge?
A: If your 2023 tax return for your household shows an Adjusted Gross Income of $50,000 or less and qualify for more than minimum Pell, then you are eligible. You must also have either a 3.0 high school GPA or a 21 on the ACT to receive TWU Pledge.
2: When can I apply to TWU?
A: You can apply on our website now for free!
3: Is TWU Pledge just for the first year?
A: The TWU Pledge is renewable for all years of undergraduate work at TWU if you maintain the GPA requirements.
4: What GPA do I need to keep to still receive TWU Pledge?
A: You must remain HOPE scholarship eligible. For freshman and sophomores, you must have a 2.75 GPA. For junior and senior years, you must keep a 3.0 GPA.
5: Can I go to another school for my first year and then transfer in and still receive TWU Pledge?
A: Unfortunately not. TWU Pledge is just for incoming freshmen only.
6: Do I still have to pay for my books?
A: Fees, books, and housing are not included. You can use excess scholarships or loans to cover any other charges. Payment plans are also available as early as April.
7: Do I need to file the FAFSA?
A: Yes, the FAFSA must be filed to qualify as this is how we will verify your tax information. The FAFSA will open in December. TWU’s school code is 003525.
8: My parents made more than $50,000 in 2023 but now they are divorced. Would I be eligible?
A: The Student Financial Services Office can perform a Professional Judgement, changing the tax information in certain situations. You would just need to provide additional documentation for us to do this. If the result is a $50,000 or less AGI, then you would be eligible.
9: How do I know if TWU is the right fit for me?
A: We invite you to schedule a tour on campus so you can see all that TWU has to offer. Contact our Admissions team or schedule a tour on our website.
10: How much is the TWU Pledge?
A: The TWU Pledge dollar amount is going to vary as this is a last-dollars scholarship. After all institutional aid, state aid, and federal grants have been applied, we will cover the remaining tuition amount with TWU Pledge.
11: I qualify for the Pell Grant? Do I get TWU Pledge too?
A: TWU Pledge does not consider Pell Grant eligibility. It is based solely on the AGI and GPA/ACT.
