Spring 2024 Orientation

Friday, January 5, 2024  |  9:00am – 2:30pm

What to expect at an in-person orientation.

  1. You will meet other new Bulldogs. You’ll meet in small groups of 8-10 students and go through activities to learn more about each other and TWU!
  1. Connect with current Bulldogs. Meet your Orientation Leaders who will also guide you on the day and can answer all your questions.
  1. Meet with financial aid. You will meet with someone from Student Financial Services. Here, you can discuss your award letters, learn how to work on campus and set up a payment plan.
  1. Register for your first TWU classes! Meet face-to-face with your TWU advisor. You’ll talk through Wesleyan Essentials and your major courses – then register for spring classes! (Note: transfer students will be contacted by their faculty advisor to select classes, freshman students will meet face-to-face.)
  1. Parents – your attendance is not required, but we also have a schedule of events specifically for you.

Sample January Orientation Schedule:

9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Check-in
9:30 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.: Welcome
9:50 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.: TWU
Academics
10:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Group Introductions

Concurrent Sessions

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.: Student Life, Bulldog Technology
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Lunch
12:30 – 1:30 – Freshman: (Advising),
and Transfers (Financial Aid)
1:30 – 2:30 – Freshman: (Financial Aid), and Transfers (your day ends)

Orientation FAQ

Q: IS ORIENTATION REQUIRED?
A: Yes, students must attend orientation before classes begin. This includes all general sessions, the advising session, and meeting with financial aid.


Q: ARE PARENTS OR GUESTS ALLOWED TO ATTEND?
A:
Yes! There is a specific family track while you attend your TWU sessions. 

Q: I HAVE A DISABILITY, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
A: The orientation team has experience working with students with disabilities and making accommodations. If you feel comfortable, please let your Admissions Counselor know prior to your orientation, otherwise just let your OLs know. You can also let them know any accommodations that will make you feel more comfortable.
