Program Description
Earn your bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) fully online through TWU Fort Sanders Nursing Department RN-BSN degree.
The program is affordable and can be completed in as little as 1 year. Since you’re already working as a nurse, the program is tailored to you, with flexible, manageable course schedules.
RN to BSN Program Features
– Easy to navigate online learning platform (LAMP powered by SAKAI).
– Clinical projects can be completed in your hometown, with no clocked clinical hours.
– RNs can challenge up to 12 credit hours through proficiency testing (Health Assessment, Pharmacology, and Advanced Nursing).
– Assignments and Clinical Projects are tailored to provide RN students the ability to apply learning immediately in their daily practice.
RN to BSN Program Costs
The online RN-BSN is offered at a discounted tuition rate, with federal and state financial aid opportunities.
•$325 per credit hour
•$300 per credit hour for Covenant Health employees
•Online BSN students are eligible for all federal and state aid including: HOPE, Pell, student loans.
Due to the already discounted tuition rate for this program, institutional scholarships are unavailable. You may be eligible for deferred payment options available through employer reimbursement plans.
Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission to the online BSN program all students must:
•Complete online application.
•Submit official academic transcripts from all institutions attended.
•Minimum 2.75 GPA
•Must have a current, unrestricted RN license prior to the start of the second semester.
•All interested nursing students are encouraged to contact an advisor to schedule a one-on-one appointment to review previous coursework, develop an individualized curriculum plan and offer planning strategies.

Nursing Admission Appeals
Students who do not meet prescribed entrance requirements may be referred to the Nursing Admissions & Promotions Committee by the Nursing Admissions Coordinator. The committee reviews and may interview those students whose grade point average is less than 2.75. The Nursing Admissions & Promotions Committee has set forth the following requirements to assist with admissions evaluations:
Appeal requirements for pre-nursing students who do not meet the entrance requirements:
•Required: Letter requesting admission addressing the following items:
1. Any circumstances that contributed to poor achievement at previous institutions
2. Academic plan outlining how the student plans to correct mistakes made in the past
•Recommended: Prior college/university transcripts
•Recommended: Any documentation the student feels is pertinent to their case
•Recommended: Evidence of academic work since last full-time enrollment (i.e. summer coursework)
RN to BSN Experience
The courses offered are both flexible and manageable. Offered through an online learning platform, the courses you take can be completed wherever you are. If you have questions or need help, our faculty are always available through email, the forums and discussion boards on Sakai, or by phone on Microsoft Teams.
