Tennessee Wesleyan University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and master’s degrees. SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices among the diverse institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Latin America and other international sites approved by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees. The Commission also accepts applications from other international institutions of higher education.

Tennessee Wesleyan’s programs have been approved by the the University Senate of the United Methodist Church.

The TWU Nursing program is fully approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing, 665 Mainstream Drive, 2nd floor Nashville, TN 37243 , (615) 532-5166 or 1-800-778-4123 and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750 Washington, DC 20001, (202) 887-6791.

Social Work Program

The TWU Social Work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Commission on Accreditation, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314-3457. Phone: 703-683-8080.

Occupational Therapy Program

The entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program has applied for accreditation and has been granted Full-Accreditation Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929.
