FAQ

When will I receive information about my residence hall, room and roommate?

Once you attend New Student Orientation, you will be able to access your “myPortal” via the Tennessee Wesleyan website. This area will be where you can see your room assignment and roommate(s) information, and register your vehicle. Typically, room assignments for fall begin in June of each year and continue until the beginning of school.

Will I have Internet access at Tennessee Wesleyan?

Each residence hall room has an Internet connection for each resident that is active when you move in. There is also Wi-Fi throughout campus.

Where can I do laundry on campus?

Each residence hall has washers and dryers that are FREE for residents.

What should I remember to bring?

What can my roommate and I share?

Talk with your roommate (Keith and Fowler Halls) about bringing a compact refrigerator (up to 3 cubic ft.), stereo and television, microwave oven (700 watts or less- power strip required), and game console. This planning will prevent you from having duplicates of these items in your room.

Where can I have things mailed to me?

All residential students will have their mail stored in a filing cabinet filed alphabetically by last name in the mailroom. Students will not receive an email when they receive letter mail and will have to check periodically in the mailroom to see if they have received letter mail.

We are excited to now be using electronic parcel lockers for residents and faculty/staff who receieved packages! Now, once a package is received, it will be placed in a parcel locker and an email with a PIN and barcode will automatically be sent to the person receiving the package. Simply come to the kiosk just outside the mailroom and scan your barcode or enter your PIN and the door to the locker containing your package will open. Close the locker door, and the process is complete. For oversized or perishable packages, you will receive a different email with instructions about how to pick up your package.

All mail & packages should be addressed as follows:

(Your legal name)
Tennessee Wesleyan University
204 E. College St.
Athens, TN 37303

Where can I park on campus?

Parking at Tennessee Wesleyan is FREE. However, each student must register his or her vehicle on myPortal to receive a free parking permit. The permit will allow the student to park in designated resident spaces near their residence hall.
