The Free Application for Federal Student Aid opens on Oct. 1 each year. Both federal and state aid are determined by your FAFSA, so be sure to complete your application as early as possible!

Below are some frequently asked financial aid related questions, but if you don’t see your question answered below, please contact us. Our Financial Aid department will be glad to assist.

How Is My Financial Need Determined?

The U.S. Department of Education uses a formula from your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). All schools you list on the FAFSA will be sent your EFC. The EFC is the amount of money the Department of Education determines you can afford to pay for your student to go to college for one year.

Once the college has your EFC, then we can determine your federal eligibility.

How Do I Apply For Financial Aid at Tennessee Wesleyan University?

Apply and be accepted for admission to Tennessee Wesleyan University. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Provide other supporting documentation as required.

What Can I Do If The FAFSA Does Not Reflect My Current Financial Status?

Contact our office if the FAFSA does not reflect your current financial situation or if your financial situation changes during the academic year. Additional documentation may be required from you, and then we can review your FAFSA and see if we can make any adjustments to it which may allow for additional funding.
