Tennessee Wesleyan University welcomes you to New Student Orientation. During Orientation, new students will meet many members of the University community, learn what it means to be a Bulldog, finalize their financial aid, and more. Freshman students will meet with a faculty advisor to set up their semester schedule. Transfer students will be contacted by their faculty advisor to select classes.
Fall 2026 Orientation
Tentative Student Schedule
8:30 am – 9:00 am: Check-in (Colloms Campus Center)
9:00 am – 9:15 am: Welcome (Johnson Event Center)
9:15 – 10:15 am: TWU Basics – Learn the basics from Student Financial Services and Academic Affairs
10:15 am – 10:30 am: Break
10:30 am – 11:15 am: Student Life – Meet with your Student Life team to learn about the activities on campus and support you will receive at TWU.
11:15 am – 12:00 pm: Group Introductions – Get to know your Orientation Leaders and your peers in this introductory session
12:00 pm – 12:55 pm: Lunch
12:55 pm – Meet OLs at Designated Locations
1:00 pm – 4:55 pm: Concurrent Sessions

– Financial Aid This is your personalized meeting with Student Financial Services to discuss your award package and get any questions answered.
– Campus Crawl Optional tour, visit the bookstore, take a break in the game room; grab a snack, etc.
Bulldog Technology Learn how to use myPortal and other TWU sites. You will also download the TWU app to stay up-to-date
4:30 pm – 5:00 pm: Question/Info Table: Outside Student Life

– Practical Matters Equip families with key information about policies, campus resources, and how to support their student from afar.
– Financial Aid This is your personalized meeting with Student Financial Services to discuss your award package and get any questions answered.
–Campus Crawl Optional tour, visit the bookstore, take a break in the game room; grab a snack, etc.
-Beyond the Care Package Interactive session where families learn creative ways to support their student throughout the year.
What to expect at orientation.
- You will meet other new Bulldogs. You’ll meet other new students who will be joining you on campus this fall!
- Connect with current Bulldogs. Meet your Orientation Leaders and learn more about life at TWU!
- Meet with financial aid. You will meet with someone from Student Financial Services. Here, you can discuss your award letters, learn how to work on campus, and set up a payment plan.
- Register for your first TWU classes! Meet face-to-face with your TWU advisor. You’ll talk through Wesleyan Essentials and your major courses – then register for fall classes! (Note: transfer students will be contacted by their faculty advisor to select classes, and freshmen students will select classes at Orientation.)
- Parents/Legal Guardians – your attendance is not required, but we also have a schedule of events specifically for you.
