Dental Hygiene Admissions Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission include:
1. Minimum GPA of 2.5 to apply (3.00 GPA or higher is considered competitive)

2. Students must first be accepted or enrolled at TWU to apply for the Dental Hygiene program.

A portion of applicants are invited to interview with the Dental Hygiene Admissions Committee, which selects each class of 20

Dental Hygiene Application Process

Admission into the dental hygiene program is a dual process. You must first be admitted to TWU. Upon further review, you must be admitted into TWU’s dental hygiene program.

1. Submit the TWU Undergraduate Application.
2. Submit official high school transcript.
3. Submit official college transcripts from all institutions attended.
4. After admission to TWU, apply and interview for the Dental Hygiene program.

Dental Hygiene is a full-time only program which begins officially in a student’s junior year, with the application process open from November-March of the sophomore year. Students entering the program must carry a 2.5 GPA in their prerequisite coursework, and priority is given to students who complete their general educational core at Tennessee Wesleyan.


Acceptance to the dental hygiene program begins with acceptance to the University, followed by a dental hygiene application. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor
